Hey Xeno. I got 1.5 to work on my 7.5 not sure what it's problem was. I eneterd the exact info all three times and then I finally took. I do have a bit a problem though. I'm not sure if your vwar cal, login, up coming match top rightside block is based off of the vWarextras block floating around the vWar website or not but mine has a few minor errors. I made all the required changes without any problems. Of the three issues I have only one comes up as an error but not a script error. It's a HTTP 404 error. I get that when I try to login through this block. I mean there is only so much I had to change in the extra login block. So, I'm not sure why it doesn't work. The next is the calendar. It's up but it didn't come up in a table type format. I just have a string of dates next to each other. The last is the countdown. It doesn't show any countdown. I put in a test match to see if these would work. If you have time, I have it up on my new website. It's www.clanbw.com/bwc/index.php . Nothing to drop the paint brush for or maybe in your case the game controller. Thanks

Heym8,
Nice to hear u finally got it installed.
About the block thing. Make sure you have the folder: extra in your vwar modules folder, like: /modules/vwar/extra.
I just checked yours: http://www.clanbw.com/bwc/modules/vwar/extra/

The countdonws does work: http://www.clanbw.com/bwc/modules/vwar/extra/countdown.php altho, your style.css of your theme won't allow it to show the counter. I got the same problem with another theme of mine. I think ya got to alter the style.css a bit, but not sure how to.

I will take a look, if I can put up a download which has all the files altered already, so ya don't have to edit the extra files to suite with phpnuke.

I hope this helped ya a bit.

Xeno

You know I kind of figured that the countdown problem was in my theme but didn't look at the css. Couldn't figure out the other problems. Based on the install/script modifications, there wasn't any script change that should have stopped the calendar or the login from acting correctly. I'll look at my changes again but they were straight forward.

Yea, I was glad I could get 1.5 up. I didn't like the 1.44 layout. Thanks, Xeno.

Did you find out why login didn't work. XenoMorph did yours work right out of the box?

A couple of related questions. Are you using the same version vwar you have for download here? If so, were there originally question marks instead of symbols? If so, what was the fix.

Was your calendar the proper width automatically or did you have to control its width somehow?

Thx

I adapted my block with the login box....athe extra loginfile does work tho....I'll put up a download for a working loginblock.

And for the calendar thing, I adjusted the width and height in the calendar_include file. It's all just html related. If ur well known with html, u can do it urself.

And for the: "were there originally question marks instead of symbols" don't quite know what you mean by that. Using same download is in my download section.

That would be kewl regarding the login block. Would you mind dropping by our site and looking at the vwar. You will see the question marks I am referring to. Its a php symbol. You can access our vwar by hiting roster at the top. www.sc-hq.com

I don't know html and am not sure what to change for the calendar.

Thx

PS....I have installed the vwar twice and both times the question marks were there.

That's weird......I have no clue why you got those "?" there...did you also get that with the version of mindcrime (gabs)?

Hmm and not knowin g html....kinda funny, cuz u R using php, which is much more difficult than html. Html is the foundation of modern webcoding, I sure recoomend you to learn some html before getting yourself into scripts like vwar and phpnuke......

I built a couple of rudimentary sites in html....and it is too late on the php thing. I have been making php sites for three years. The html codes still throw me though. Do you know how to get a hold of the Maj who made the block. Perhaps he could give me instructions on controling the calendar width.

No I didn't the ?'s on gab's version but the block wouldn't run on his. I am thinking about trying Jamies and adding the extra file to it before I get too much data entry done on this version.

Thx for any help...much appreciated.

GAB's extra folder contains a .htaccess file, delete that 1 and the extra folder will work.

BTW, I installed Gab's version and I must say his addons R quite nice, but the complete vwar contains a bunch of BUGS......

Thx. I installed it this morning. Haven't gotten a chance to install the Extras Block or test it out much. The bugs don't sound good. I tried to add an extras file to Jamies and couldn't get it to work. Probably something just as simple as the .htaccess file.

Is there any chance you would be willing to share your calendar_includes and your login.php from the extra file?

I was hoping perhaps the changes you made for the calendar would work for me too as I can't figure it out. And it would be awesome to have the login working withing the Extras Block rather than stand alone.

Thx.

About your pm's:
The question mark are the result of the the importing of the style file when installing the module. Could be that when you unpacked the zip, some file where changed. I have made a backup of the orriginal database.
All you have to do is upload it into your database and look if it works or not. to enter the admin section:
loginname = admin
password = admin

http://www.tdi-hq.com/vwar_backup_10062004.sql

Could also be that there's sumfn wrong with your msql database.
If this isn't the solution, give me a link to where to download wolf's version, so I can check that 1 out and make the block work with that version.

That did it. No question marks. Great job. If I can get the calendar width right and fix my login Ill be smokin. The login block you made does work fine though. Having it in the Extras Block is ideal of course.

That's what I thought,...somehow your style-file is was corrupt while extracting or sumfn....

It's not that hard getting it onto the block, think you can do that urself (after 3years of using php)..
